Maxime Old, Fireside Chair

This dining room chair was designed by Maxime Old in 1960 for the Rouen City Council. One of the designer’s most emblematic projects. The Anne Jacquemin Sablon gallery presents a contemporary edition of the council chair which is characterized by its satin sycamore base and its velvet seat. The satin finish of the base, creates a polished effect contrasting with the velvet seat. Please note that the velvet is included in the price. This dining table is a contemporary edition of the Apparat table, originally designed by the famous designer Maxime Old in 1956. It was made for the Salon du Palais of the Halle aux toiles in Rouen, and its central part opens to accommodate planters.The Anne Jacquemin Sablon gallery presents a contemporary edition of the Apparat table, characterized by its X-shaped brushed oak compass base and satin sycamore top. The tray is crafted with wood threads going in different directions to create a unique pattern. The satin finish of the top creates a polished effect, contrasting with the ribs of the brushed oak.
