Pair Of Fine Neoclassical Style Lyre Back Side Chairs

About the Item

Possibly Italian. Elegant side chairs with curved and scrolled crest rails with reeded bands. The lyre form splats with finely carved scrolled leafy sides and a center palmette and lower leaves. All mounted on a shaped and scrolled base with palmette in the center. Raised on turned and reeded legs with peg feet in front and square tapering splayed ones in back. The seats upholstered in a brown, orange and green striped cut velvet fabric. Dimensions: 35" high x 19" wide x 21" deep x 19" high seat Condition: Please review details of the photos. There are old gouges and wear to the crest rails. There are stable age splits to both upper splats. There is a hole in one corner of one seat frame. Stains on the seats with some frayed edges visible. Nice antique patina and good looking.
