About the Item
A pair of George II period mahogany hall chairs. The shaped, concave backs are painted with a monogram, possibly a "J" or "T." Inspired by the Italian sgabello form. The balloon-shaped seats have a dished center which is mirrored on the shaped front legs. An undulating stretcher connects the front legs to the back legs. Retaining a lovely, warm patina.
