Pair of Swedish Rococo Period Chairs

About the Item

Pair of Swedish rococo period chairs, hand-carved circa 1745-1774. Finish gently scraped back to original and early layers of paint. Shell motif carved into frieze and crest. Cabriole front legs resting upon finely carved claw and ball feet. Seat newly covered in linen. Sold together and priced $4,600 for the pair.

    Repaired: The rear upper leg on one chair had an old repair - we restored it properly and reinforced it. Tightened all joints. Stable and sturdy. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading.
