About the Item

A pair of late 19th c., custom cream and red painted chairs each with the padded back and seat upholstered in a red and cream toile, on octagonal tapering legs and brass casters. The upholstered chair back is in a contrasting red and cream check with edge piping. The quality of the upholstery is wonderful with the seat following the contours of the chair frame and the padded back having a three three dimensional shape. These chairs are distinctive and have lots of personality. Dimensions: 37"h x 19"w x 23"d, 18"h (to seat) Condition: Good, light wear to paint, upholstery very clean, ready to place. Provenance: Property from a Litchfield, Connecticut Estate Collection
