About the Item

Ornately detailed relief 18th Century Baroque styled provincial Italian salon sofa finished in pale gold gilt over gesso on carved hardwood. Wonderfully sculpted centrepiece mask of Aeolus, greek god of wind adorns the back with acanthus scrolling over rolled arms. Some past restoration but lots of wear and tear retaining it's aged patina and rustic charm. Firmly padded seat, back and rests, recently reupholstered. Some signs of historic worm but now fully treated.
