About the Item

Amazing and early Art Deco two-seat sofa attributed to Danish architect Flemming Lassen and manufactured by the high end furniture store "L.H. Qvesehl" in the 1930s. The sofa is typical for the functionalist movement that many of the young Danish designers and architects was inspired by in this decade with the sharp, curved shapes and low profile. A delicate-looking yet robustly sofa that is beautiful to behold from every angle and finds its place effortlessly in the middle of any living room. The sofa retains the original paper label from the manufacturer. The sofa has been professionally reupholstered with hand sewn details in the most beautiful wool fabric from the small family owned "Kjellerup Weaving". The dessin is called "Blans" and was designed by renown textile artist Hanne Vedel. Her textile designs have been used in numerous international assignments such as the Trusteeship Council Chamber – also called The Finn Juhl Chamber at the United Nations’ Headquarters in New York. In the style of early Danish functionalism by Viggo Boesen, Vilhelm Lauritzen, Mogens Lassen and Finn Juhl.
