About the Item

An Italian carved-wood, four-chair back sofa bench with cane seat, from the early 19th century. This antique bench from Italy features a four-chair back design, with elegant lattice designed splats within a floating rectangular frame for resting, and straight top rail. Slender and outwardly curved wood arm rests flow downward at the knuckles and continue to make up the front posts and legs. The hand-caned seat is famed within a cleanly designed apron. This piece is nicely presented upon ten legs, supported just above their ankles with a repeating H-style wooden stretcher. It comes with a removable light blue seat cushion. This beautiful centuries-old Italian four-seat sofa bench, with its graceful design and caned seat, is just over 6 feet in length, and will be a welcoming seating addition for an entry foyer, or living-room.
