Early 19th Century English Regency Neoclassical Parcel-Gilt Sofa

About the Item

An outstanding Regency sofa in neoclassical taste. The couch is supported by Curule form legs with gilt edges. The arms of the piece exhibit eagle armrests and lion masks. The headrail is decorated with a bold Greek key meander. The whole is upholstered in a very fine Scalamandre embroidered gold velvet. England, circa 1805.
