Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this sublime George Smith / Howard & Son's style, signature scroll arm two-seat sofa upholstered with Aztec Kilims Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote, please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price Kilim upholstery furniture dates back to the early Victorian era, they were present in the finest country homes, a Kilim is basically a rug used for upholstery, this sofa has two large kilims used, they are an Aztec pattern and look amazing The sofa model was originally designed by Howard & Son's as an armchair and then later a sofa in the Victorian era, it has since been copied by thousands of companies, the most famous of whom is George Smith who really made a name for themselves especially in the world of Kilim sofas, this sofa for sale now is based on those designs, it is vintage although I'm not 100% sure how old exactly, the front legs have been changed for some that can be removed, I assume to make it easier to get through narrow doorways The upholstery is in good used condition throughout, the arms look to be replacement turkey work which matches well with the Aztec, the frame has been cleaned waxed and polished Dimensions Height 88cm Width 157.5cm Depth 104cm Seat height 38cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask.
