Geraldo de Barros, 2-seater Tubular sofa, c. 1970

About the Item

Designed in the 1970s, this three-seater sofa in tubular metal and white fabric by Geraldo de Barros is to be placed in the artistic continuity of its creators, who was an important artist (designer, engraver, painter, photographer, graphic designer and designer) and who notably marked the Brazilian Concretist movement. Indeed, the curved lines of the structure, the parallel pattern formed by the support of the file are obviously imagined by the designer in connection with his photographic production looking for geometric shapes, pattern repetitions and black and white work. Geraldo de Barros, as a revolutionary artist, offers with this sofa not only a new way to furnish an interior and sit, but above all a new way of seeing the world.
