About the Item

Reupholstered Mid-Century Modern model 1307 light cream velvet sofa by Paul McCobb for Directional. The couch has been recovered in a gorgeous neutral velvet. The sofa features a slight wing back and beautifully sculpted solid mahogany wood base with walnut stain. The sofa has amazing lines with splayed back legs. Very comfortable and elegant. A truly to die for piece of American modern design that will complement a variety of decors from traditional to Hollywood Regency. Height to top of back cushion: 33 in. Literature: Paul McCobb, Directional Designs, p. 76. Throughout the years and many collaborations with different manufacturers that brought to life all his design endeavors, Directional is by far the highest quality manufacturer Paul McCobb collaborated with, producing furniture of the finest quality. In 1949, Directional furniture began as a line of upholstered chairs to complement Martin Feinman's Multiplex modular case goods. Directional went on to include hundreds of individual designs manufactured by a multitude of companies. Directional ceased producing Paul McCobb's designs sometime in 1962.
