Rare Modular Sofa by Günter Sulz, Germany 1970s
About the Item
Rare modular sofa “Canvas”, in a beautiful original greige linen , conceptualizedby the German designer Günter Sulz and made by his company Behr + Sulz, Stuttgart in 1973. The sofa has a gorgeous, almost Modern Hamptons like feel but surprisingly is not filled with foam or down; and rather innovatively has inflatable cushions. This allows the sofa to officially become the easiest sofa to ever move. The sofa sits comfortably and is not delicate in sit or feel. The cushions pull together with hand dyed cords that connect through a series of eyelets.
Condition: Our team of restorationists has custom hand dyed new ties; and the back rest cushions pull together to create more symmetry.
