About the Item

This item was obtained during the auction "The Personal Property of Marilyn Monroe" held on October 27 and 28, 1999, at Christie's in New York. It can be traced back to page 302, lot 435 of the auction catalog. The authenticity of the sofa is absolutely certain. The auction invoice, as well as the image in the original 1999 auction catalog, clearly prove it. Additionally, the provenance has been successfully traced, revealing that the sofa was taken to Germany after the 1999 auction and was later re-auctioned there years later. Step into a piece of Hollywood history with the MARILYN MONROE Sofa, straight from the personal collection of the iconic Marilyn Monroe. This mahogany masterpiece is more than just a seat—it's a slice of the glamour and sophistication that Marilyn brought to the silver screen. Crafted with care, the sofa's mahogany frame is adorned with delicate cut decors, reflecting Marilyn's classic style. The curved shape and plush upholstery, complete with cord friezes and tassels, evoke a sense of luxury and timeless beauty. Remnants of the original gold highlights add a touch of nostalgia, letting you feel the magic of Marilyn's era. Wrapped in an ivory-colored textile cover, the sofa features patterned stylized and geometric ornaments, striking a balance between classic and contemporary aesthetics. With dimensions of 90 (H) x 53 (S.H.) x 220 (W) x 80 (D) cm, this sofa becomes a standout piece that invites you to bask in the elegance associated with Marilyn Monroe. This sofa is more than furniture; it's a chance to own a tangible piece of Marilyn's legacy.
