We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare fully restored George II style late Victorian hand carved with Lion hairy paw feet Chesterfield brown leather sofa Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only, for an accurate quote please send me your postcode This sofa has been on a journey, it came to me years ago with wobbly arms in old green velvet and missing the cushions, the timber was dry and dull and it needed saving. I have had it stripped down to the frame, all the joints have been tightened and strengthened where needed, its then been rebuilt from the ground up with new padding, six plain fully aniline English cattle hide leathers, there are two new oversized feather filled cushions, I’ve then had it hand dyed this stunning whisky brown leather colour by my leather polishers, the wood work has then all been washed back and French polished by my third generation trained Victorian French polisher The sofa is now a tour de force of style design and craftsmanship, the size really doesn’t translate well in the pictures and or the actual dimensions but this sofa is massive in height and presents, it seats two with comfort and three very well, the height of the back and curve of the arms make this a large persons sofa, I’m 6’4 and my feet just about touch the ground, for smaller people it’s what’s called a cuddle sofa because they can lovingly cuddle up in a corner I have pictures of the piece pre and mid restoration if you would like to see the process Dimensions: Height 101cm Width 188cm Depth 99cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
