About the Item

Full of personality, in order to create unique pieces, mixing ancient techniques for treating sheep wool with contemporary design and innovation, Inês Schertel is considered one of the most prominent names in the Brazilian design contemporary scene. Using hand-felted sheep's wool, she develops unique and very special objects. The sustainable process of each piece, from obtaining the raw material to finishing, respects the importance of increasingly essential concepts, such as reusing materials, valuing handmade processes, and respecting time. The result is a combination of ancient techniques and raw materials combined with a unique and contemporary design.

Esfera Stool by Rodrigo Ohtake, Brazilian Contemporary Design
By Rodrigo Ohtake
Located in Sao Paulo, SP
The Esfera stool was created by the Brazilian contemporary designer Rodrigo Ohtake, in 2019. The mix of materials is the differential in this series. While wood is used as a seat, a metal plate, thick and curved, raises the first material from the ground in a light way and with minimal contact, both with the floor and with the wood. The structure is made of stainless steel and Cumaru Wood. Definitely a one of a kind and unique piece. Graduated at FAU / USP in 2009, with a period of studies at the Polytechnic of Milan, Rodrigo Ohtake is always in search of his own architectural style. Passionate about colors and free forms, he collaborated with architects Mario Biselli, Alvaro Puntoni, and Frenchman Patrick Jouin, in addition to working with his father, Ruy, from 2008 to 2016. In addition to working in the offices, he participated as a curatorial assistant in the exhibitions "Viver na Floresta", curated by Abílio Guerra, "O Coração da Cidade: Invention of Spaces" by Júlio Katinsky...
