"Bisou" stool, shiny lilac resin and selvedges Manufacture Prelle
About the Item
The Bisou stool, the result of a collaboration between Uchronia and the silk Manufacture Prelle to mark the "Waving Silk" exhibition in January 2023. This stool is made exclusively in France from resin, lacquer and Prelle selvedge.
The aim of the exhibition was to highlight Prelle's unused fabrics and waste products and give them a second life.
Constructed from solid wood, the pieces combines two different métiers, that of resin and passementerie. Made in Paris by master paint specialists , the piece is covered in a layer of blue matt resin, coloured with natural pigments to achieve a slightly speckled, irregular surface, like an icy lava stone.
