With beautiful materials and simplicity of form, this low seat from the early 20th century has a timeless appeal. Known as a fang deng (square stool), this little stool would have been used for everyday seating throughout the home and doubles as a low table for display objects or serving tea. The stool has a classical form with a floating panel top, waisted apron and straight corner legs ending in subtle hoof feet.
