Late 19th Century Carved Oak Louis XVI Stool

About the Item

This stool is done in oak with great color and deep rich hand carving. Created in the last decade of the 19th century, the stool's apron is carved in a twisted ribbon that centers on the two long sides but twists in opposite directions from the center. The reeded legs are centered at the apron with acanthus centered panels. Newly upholstered in deer suede tanned in a rich golden ocher color and finished out with a fine silk french trim The stool has a new waxing and a polish is strong and sturdy with all joints glued and ready to use.
