Old small wooden stool from Southeast Asia/20th century
About the Item
This is a small wooden stool believed to have been made in Asia or Southeast Asia. The black sooty look and the glossy texture of the pine wood tell us that it is a tool of daily life from a different culture.
The low height and stability of the piece suggest that it was probably used for some kind of work. The surface of the tabletop is worn and shiny from years of use, and the legs and sides are covered with a deep sooty luster. These changes over time give the stool a beauty and depth that transcends mere antiquity.
The structure is solid and can be used with confidence in terms of practical use. There is no significant damage, but there are two areas where pieces of wood have peeled off on the inside of the legs. Overall, however, it remains in good condition.
It is recommended as an accent piece that goes well with low tables, austere tops, marble, and heavy wood furniture to bring a touch of the exotic into your space. It can also be used as a decorative stand, a base for vases, or a stage for small objects.
