Large Senufo stool of Africa/wooden chair/Side table/20th century

About the Item

We have a simple and artistic wooden stool in stock. This is a stool made by the Senufo tribe, who live in an area spanning the neighboring countries of Mali and Burkina Faso, mainly in the northern part of Côte d'Ivoire in West Africa. They make stools like this, beds, etc., and create furniture around them with their own hands. This item is believed to have been made around the 20th century. A stool carved out of a large block of wood. Because the color of the wood is different between the center and the outer part, the seat and legs are patterned and attractive. In addition, most Senufo stools are low, around 20 cm, but this one is 43 cm, which is a large size. It is believed that this chair was probably used by the tribal chief during ceremonies. Therefore, the number is small and the rarity is high. Although it is a large seat, it is very comfortable to sit on and has a sense of stability. It can be used as a stool or as a side table. There is a chip on the tip of the foot, but there is no problem in use. You can use it without any problems. Recommended item.
