Old small wooden door of African Dogon granary/wall hanging object/20th century

About the Item

A small wooden door from a Dogon granary or agricultural tool warehouse. This is an ethnic group that lives on the cliffs (Mount Bandiagara) in the Republic of Mali, Africa. Their homes are rectangular structures made of clay bricks and the surface is smoothed with dirt. There is also a warehouse built from freshly compacted mud. This appears to be a door that was installed in a warehouse. Due to its small size, it seems to be a window for taking out small items from the outside. Is it a crocodile or a lizard? Many of these animals are carved inside the doors they make. If you attach it to the wall, you can display it as a wonderful object. If you want to decorate it, please secure it with nails or screws. It seems to date from before the 20th century. There are two places on the back where nails were driven. Although weathering is progressing, the parts will not fall apart. If you move it by hand, the board will move slightly. In addition, the soil in the gaps is kept as it is because it is in its current state. There's a slight earthy smell, but it's hard to notice unless you get your nose very close to it. The size is easy to decorate and collect. Weight: 1.1kg
