About the Item
This is the Norwegian Krogenæs Möbler’s solid pine stool set of three, model nr 522.
It comes in a stable, three legged construction with patinated untreated surface. Two of the three stools are burn marked “Krogenæs Möbler” on the underside of the seat.
Model nr 522 was manufactured in a short period, manly in the second half of 1960s. Designed by an unknown designer as a milking stool, easy to carry out on the mountain when the free-ranging cattle are to be milked.
It has a three-legged construction with a wide base and carved cupped seat.
Perfect for its purpose!
Cows, goats and sheep graze freely in the mountains during the bright summer months and the model is still used today in some places.
The stool has also become popular for furnishing, for example as a bedside table or as a useful furniture in sports cabins.

Krogenæs Møbler was founded by Ragnvald Krogenæs in the mountain village of Skåbu in Norway on July 3, 1964.
Ragnvald Krogenæs dream was to make traditional Norwegian pine furniture for modern homes, based on old Norwegian agricultural tradition.
In 1964, he was presented on Norwegian Television in a series about some of the Norwegian business worlds Askeladder (Askeladd = fictional figure in Norwegian folk tales, the hero of the stories, the youngest boy from whom no one expects anything but who nonetheless wins in the end).
The furniture sold so well that for a time they were also able to manufacture in the village of Vinstra.
His big dream was a reality, and he only experienced boom times until his death in 1969.
During the company's heyday, the factory employed around 85 people, but in the early 1970s the company had capacity problems and had difficulty delivering products on time. In the late 1980s, the company experienced decline both in Norway and abroad.
Krogenæs Møbler went bankrupt in 1992 and several times after that. In 2014, 50 years after Ragnvald Krogenæs founded the company, the saga definitely ended.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Used and slightly worn with a beautiful homely patina. One of the stools has a more visible stain from use, another one has two small dry cracks on the edge of the seat, nothing that compromises stability in any way.
