About the Item

We kindly invite you to read the entire description, as we aim to provide detailed technical and historical information to ensure the authenticity of our objects. This iconic and original stool comes with wheels. The shell is made of injection-molded polyester reinforced with fiberglass. Underneath the base is a round wooden plate, on which four wheels are mounted, allowing for easy movement while seated. The shell's column is attached to the underside of the seat with an iron plate secured by screws. The padded seat, upholstered in durable velvet with a pleasant orange hue, features a swivel mechanism for added functionality and is fully removable. The stool was produced between 1970 and 1975 by a small company located on the outskirts of Milan, Italy, where artisans were inspired by the Space Age style. This aesthetic movement originated at the dawn of the Space Age, commonly linked to the launch of Sputnik in October 1957. Space Age design reflected society's optimism and confidence in the technologies of the 1950s through the 1970s, manifesting in a variety of styles characterized by rounded forms, freedom of expression, lightness, and simplicity. Objects from that era often feature minimalist volumes inspired by geometric shapes, decisively breaking away from rationalist tradition. Fiberglass-reinforced polyester, also known as GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester), is a composite material that combines the properties of polyester with the strength of fiberglass. GRP is exceptionally durable due to this combination: the fiberglass provides mechanical strength and durability, making it stronger than polypropylene and often thicker than polycarbonate. It is highly resistant to impact and deformation and offers good resistance to chemicals and water. While it is lighter than metal, it is generally heavier than polypropylene. As mentioned earlier, our stool stands out for its "space-inspired" design, typical of that captivating era. With its simple, geometric style, it is an authentic piece of furniture that brings a unique atmosphere to any home. The stool is in good condition, we replaced the wheels with more robust and functional model. Measurements: diameter 40 cm, height 47 cm. For all our shipments, we use special packaging materials (custom-made wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) to ensure maximum protection and safety of the items.

Italian Designer Pair Poufs with Velvet Cushions and Aluminum Structure
Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Iconic and refined pair of poufs with velvet cushions and aluminum frame; the almost square top of the poufs has been restored and upholstered with an expensive, elegant, and sturdy velvet in a delicate but bold green color; the seat is supported by a solid, massive aluminum column and pivoted to it in such a way that it can rotate freely through 360°; from the column branch off four boldly shaped, slightly curved, and extremely sturdy legs at the end of which are placed non-slip rubber feet; these sturdy legs give exceptional stability to the whole. The pair of poufs were handcrafted between 1960 and 1965 in Meda in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy, Italy, a place famous for its design industry and historic handcrafted production of classic and modern furniture. The artisans were inspired by fashion design in those fascinating and creative 1960s, a design that left room for creative freedom and innovation, a design that explodes into a variety of styles and movements that explain its richness, making room for roundness, freedom of form and movement, lightness and simplicity. The artisans were inspired by the desire to devise two small-sized objects with strong, simple lines and gave the pair of poufs a timeless elegance; their design plays between austerity and strictness, and their exaggerated linearity gives the objects a dynamic and stately character. Here, the designer's creativity and craftsmanship come together in an exclusive product, a unique modern furnishing accessory that is both refined and elegant at the same time and fits naturally and simply into both contemporary and classic environments. The 1960s was the time of the advent of pop art, with its bright colors, rounded shapes, plastic and wood, steel and aluminum forming a hitherto unthinkable meeting. 60s furniture...

We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. The very particular chair has an elegant and aggressive shape; Pierre Guariche is a legendary French designer from the 20th century. He gave a personal and innovative touch to design by combining aestheticism and mass production. As a visionary designer, he knew how to create pieces of furniture with a functionalist approach and an aesthetic dimension. He really wanted to meet the needs of the times by using methods of the series production. His creations became mythic pieces such as the Tonneau chair (1953 and 1954), the Tulip chair (1953), and the President's desk (1961). Our chair was made in France in 1960 and recently retouched with Guild fabric. Designer Guild is an international company based in London and stores all over the world; Designers Guild collections offer a range of luxury furnishing fabrics...

Zanuso Marco Style Italian Armchair with Red Velvet
By Marco Zanuso
Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly suggest that you read the whole description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Very comfortable and elegant upholstered armchair; the frame is very solid with sturdy legs made of polished and brushed brass; the seat is deliberately low but large and comfortable; the wide overall appearance has soft and pleasing lines, perfect for conveying a feeling of comfort and well-being. The armchair was made between 1960 and 1963 by an artisan workshop in Meda (Milan, Italy) that collaborated with several Lombard architects; for the creation of the armchair, the artisans were inspired by architect Marco Zanuso, following his design. Marco Zanuso (1916-2001) was among the greatest interpreters of the culture of the modern, as an architect, designer, and university lecturer; he was one of the first designers to take an interest in the problems of product industrialization, going beyond the aesthetic question to incorporate technological, industrial, distribution and communication variables. The form of an object intended for serial reproduction, according to Zanuso, is thus a synthesis of opportunities, experimentation, and innovations located in the concrete process that links creativity, production, and sociocultural context. His countless creations include the Lady armchair, and the Antropus armchair...
