White Aluminium Stool with Lapping Cane Seating from Anodised Wicker Collection
$1,574.69per item

About
For the exhibition ‘Giles Round: The Director’ at the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, Tino Seubert realised a bench and stool from a new furniture series inspired by Donald Judd and Børge Mogensen. Anodised Wicker marries industrially extruded and anodised aluminium with handwoven cane wicker and reel rush seats. The clinical and precise aluminium contrasts and emphasises the warm and organic material.
The collection consists of this stool sized 380mm x 430mm x 450mm (W x L x H) available with a reel rush envelope seating, woven glossy lapping cane seating (this listing) or Scandinavian flax webbing and a longer bench sized 400mm x 1450mm x 450mm (WxLxH) also available with the same seating options.
The frame and legs can be finished in anodised red, powder coated white (this listing), mirror polish and grey anodised.

About the Maker
Tino Seubert | other kingdom
Tino Seubert is a product design studio based in London.
Other Kingdom is an international design brand founded by Avantika Agarwal, Jess Fügler, and Tino Seubert in 2015.
Together they showcase a selection of objects ranging from exclusive architectural design pieces to affordable handcrafted home accessories. Other kingdom blends traditional handcraft with machine manufacturing to create avant-garde pieces that experiment with form and aesthetic. We are committed to using responsible manufacturing and local materials to produce the highest quality products in small batches in order to reduce excess or waste.
Hailing from India, the United States, and Germany, respectively, the trio combines diverse backgrounds and expertise, Eastern and Western aesthetic sensibilities, and a shared passion for exploring materials and modes of production. From early on in his bachelor studies in Bolzano and Paris Tino Seubert started working for art galleries and realised several projects with them. From then on, the German born product designer’s focus has always been on interdisciplinary involvement. He sees conceptualisation, design and production as a broad, cumulative process and finds it important to involve himself in each step to the greatest possible extent.
History and contemporary art are an inspiration as much as material research and science. Material is never treated as just a medium of production, but as an integral part of the over all creative concept.
