First built for use on submarines in 1944, the Navy Chair has been in continuous Production ever since. With the famous 77 step Process, our craftsmen take soft, recycled aluminum, hand form and weld it- then temper it for strength. Finally, the chair is anodized for a durable finish. We guarantee the Navy Chairs for life. Measures: Arm height: 29 1/2"". Made of: Recycled aluminum. Upholstery: Maharam ledger, 463770–025 Obsidian. Other upholstery and leather colors can be ordered with no additional cost, or can be in produced in COM/COL. Product is eco-friendly. Integrity testing certification available upon request.

Make something well, it can survive anything. The thing about craft: It isn’t a job. Even when it’s your job. People stay here a long time. Started as kids. Hire their own kids later on. Each guy has a favorite chair. Maybe the one in a magazine. A movie. Mostly, it’s the one you wrestled for hours. Aluminum doesn’t forgive. You bend and shape and grind and force. It’s a fight. But satisfying. The chair will be around long after you are. For the rest of the world, maybe easy is better. That’s not us. That’s not our chairs. Our goal: make recycling obsolete and keep making things that last.
