Antique Camphorwood Trunk

About the Item

This antique camphorwood was hand-crafted in China in the late 19th century. It is brass-bound on the corners and edges, with bail handles mounted to the sides. The wood has a warm tone with rich, visible grain stripes. It has accrued marks over the years, giving the chest character and a palpable sense of history. The interior has ample storage space, including a narrow upper compartment. Dimensions: 33 in. width 16 in. depth 15 in. height Condition notes: In good condition with surface wear that's consistent with the chest's age and use, including scratches and dints, and natural splitting to the wood. Refinished.
