About the Item
In this listing you will find an exceptionally rare Antique Extra Large Adriatic Dowry Chest or Trunk done in pine with hand-painted floral ornaments. This kind of chest was a typical piece of furniture in rich houses in the Adriatic region of the Balkan peninsula and was given to a daughter at her wedding to bring her belonging to the new home. Made in the Balkans, mid 19th Century.
Good antique condition with visible signs of time and use.
