Yes. You read that correctly. This is an antique American mid to late 19th century Tennessee hand built primitive blanket chest relic which served as a trough for a cow. I'll be the first (maybe) to tell you that antique dealers can spin a yarn. The dealer from whom I purchased this table - quick side note for a joke... 'there's two antique dealers on a deserted island - business is great' - told me this tale. "So Heather (that's me) I bought this chest from the great grandson who told me that one day his great grand ma asked his great grand pa for a blanket chest. The grand pa went out into their property, cut down a tree and made this for her. Later they used it to hold the feed for their cow." Not exactly Wordsworth, but it's a tale nonetheless. I bought because, well, have you looked at those lines? The wear? The silhouette? Seriously, this is a beautiful piece of rustic American primitive furniture. Do you see just how thick the wood is!!! Wow. And the only other thing I can add is that I hope you love it as well. Bessie the cow sure loved it!

- Condition:Repaired: Looks like they used an old crate from an Auto Knitter to reinforce the bottom. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. In antique condition with age appropriate wear. And a cow used to eat out of it. Missing the top as well as other original blanket chest compartments.
