About the Item

The Serie 1935 bookcase was designed by Italian architectural master Carlo Scarpa, a work considered at the time to be extraordinarily innovative in both form and construction. This masterpiece of architectural design, the result of fine craftsmanship, was designed by Scarpa to furnish his residence in Rio Marin, Venice. Characterized by a light and decisive horizontality, Serie 1935 is distinguished by its natural walnut shelves of four different depths and heights, which create an irregular but harmonious subdivision of space. These shelves are supported by two vertical uprights made of white metal, which are equipped with adjustable spikes that complete their functionality. A work that combines aesthetics and technique, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Bernini, guaranteeing its uniqueness and historical value. bibliography: Le fabbrieche del design, by G. Gramigna, Ed. Alberto Alessandr & C, p. 55 - Year 2007 - Wohnen Mit Gutem Design, Ed. Hatje, p. 173, Year 1991 Designers: Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978) was one of the most important Italian architects and designers of the 20th century, celebrated for his unique ability to combine modernity and tradition with a poetic sensibility and maniacal attention to detail. In addition to the design of furniture and objects, Scarpa has left an indelible mark on architecture, producing highly prestigious works that stand out for their innovative use of materials, respect for the historical context and profound formal research. He has collaborated extensively with Bernini, a historic Italian company specializing in fine cabinetry, creating furniture that perfectly embodies his artistic vision: pieces of extraordinary formal balance, crafted with masterful craftsmanship and designed to last. His creations for Bernini today represent authentic masterpieces of postwar Italian design.
