About the Item
19th Century country French Louis XIV white washed bookcase is the perfect choice for storage, display and adding a timeless panache to your decor! Hand-crafted from solid oak, it features a boldly molded crown with stylized carvings of shell, floral and foliates across the bonnet, all overlooking the casework below. Carved cornerposts match the bonnet, and the doors each feature four glass panes with a finely carved panel below continuing the shell, floral and foliate theme. Even the two exterior drawers have been embellished with complementary carving, and fitted with steel knobs. The bold base is trimmed with molding just above the turned ball feet. Doors open wide to reveal a capacious interior. The finish is our own proprietary whitewash performed by our expert in-house staff, designed for decades of enjoyment!
