19th Century French Louis XVI Style Bibliotheque or Bookcase

About the Item

A 19th century French Louis XVI bibliotheque, or bookcase, made of solid walnut with mahogany as a secondary wood. Nice hand carved decorative panels at the bottom with musical instruments on the left and an artist's palette on the right. Turned fluted wood columns flank the doors. Original glass panes. Three adjustable interior shelves with an inside depth of 11". Lock and key in working condition. A versatile case piece, may be used as a china cabinet or display vitrine. In good condition with minor losses and some wear to left column. May be fully dismantled for moving and/or shipping. Circa 1880-1900.
