bookcase 1935 designed by CARLO SCARPA

About the Item

1935 series: the iconic bookshelf by Carlo Scarpa The Serie 1935 bookshelf was conceived by the master of Italian architecture, Carlo Scarpa, a piece that was considered extraordinarily innovative at the time, both formally and structurally. This architectural design masterpiece, born of refined craftsmanship, was created by Scarpa in 1935 to furnish his residence in Rio Marin, Venice. Characterized by a light and decisive horizontality, Serie 1935 stands out for its natural walnut shelves, designed in four different depths and heights, creating an irregular yet harmonious division of space. These shelves are supported by two vertical white metal uprights, equipped with adjustable feet that enhance their functionality. A work that seamlessly blends aesthetics and technical expertise, it comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by Bernini, guaranteeing its uniqueness and historical significance.
