George III Thomas Chippendale Hardwood Bookcase on Serpentine Chest Drawers

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning George III Thomas Chippendale style mahogany bookcase on serpentine chest of drawers A glorious find, truly stunning, after original Thomas Chippendale pieces, circa 1800. The chest of drawers has a lovely curved serpentine finish, the drawers are fabric lined with nice detailing, the top has an oxblood leather serving tray. The top bookcase is red velvet lined. We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, the timber has some old repairs here and there, mostly it's lovely. Dimensions: Height 211.5cm the pediment alone is 25.5cm included in the above measurements. Width 95cm Depth 50cm. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses. Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
