Pair of Fine Antique Regency Hardwood Brass Gallery & Marble Dwarf Bookcases
About the Item
We are delighted to offer for sale this exquisite pair of original Regency circa 1810-1820 mahogany open library bookcases with Italian marble tops surmounted with brass gallery rails.
A beautiful pair, very finely made in period mahogany, the tops as mentioned are solid slabs of Italian marble which have been finished with brass gallery rails, they are super decorative and very collectable pieces of English library furniture
Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished the them from top to bottom, there will be some age and use related patina marks, the only point of note I can actually see is the gallery rails have been restored at some point, they always have a bit of movement over the years as they are so fine

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
