MERVE KAHRAMAN
Merve Kahraman studied Interior Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design (Milan/Italy) before moving to London to study MA Product Design in Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London/UK). During this time she has worked in several architecture and design studios in London, New York and Istanbul. Her decision to specialize in industrial design stems from her desire to include furniture and products as an integral part of her designs for spaces. In her works, she explores the relationship between her products and their users. Developing a personal bond either through the means of reoccurring cycles or lending the object as an extension to ones personality. Sustainable design, that redefines character, executed through masterful craftsmanship is what the designer is constantly striving for. In all her products she is trying to create pieces of fine craftsmanship by using honest, natural, finest materials combined with artistry and engineering skills. All Merve Kahraman products' manufacturing is made in Turkey by local craftsman who have been practicing their fields for years. Recently, she is working on her own industrial design and interior design projects in New York.
