Satinwood bookcase in the style of Thomas Chippendale.

About the Item

A wonderfully impressive Satinwood painted library bookcase, after a design by Thomas Chippendale called 'The Melbourne Cabinets' made for Lord Melbourne in 1770 and presently residing in Firle Place, Sussex. This cabinet was commissioned to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II Golden jubilee 2002. Veneered on mahogany, with hand painted and carved classical decoration. two glazed doors either side of the central recess. Three frieze drawers above a further central recess and cupboard doors either side, raised on square tapering carved legs. BATCH 73. 61829 TYZZE
