Country French 18th Century Louis XV Period Walnut Vaissellier
About the Item
A very handsome Country French 18th century Louis XV period walnut Vaissellier. This richly carved buffet is raised on short cabriole legs below a scalloped frieze with central carvings. Above are three paneled doors, with decorative iron keyhole escutcheons and interior shelf, with carvings of scrolls and foliate. Topped by three carved paneled drawers with iron pulls and central keyhole. A central clock adorns the top flanked by two additional doors with three interior shelves. On each side of the central door, which houses the clock pendulum, are six exposed shelves where plates may be displayed. A carved central top crown continues to a scalloped molded upper edge. All original hardware and warm patina throughout.
