About the Item

An exceptional and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Mahogany, ormolu, and white Carrara marble buffet attributed to Maison Krieger. The two door three drawer buffet is raised by lovely circular tapered fluted legs with fine mottled ormolu sabots and wrap around top bands. Above the straight frieze are two central drawers showcasing the beautiful Mahogany grain framed within a beaded ormolu band with a richly chased foliate keyhole escutcheon and flanked by fluted columns. Each open side displays two curved display shelves with a beautiful pierced ormolu gallery and their original mirrored backplate. The apron displays one central drawer with elegant beaded circular ormolu pulls and a foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheon framed within a mottled wrap round beaded band. Striking richly chased block rosettes flank the drawers with elegantly curved drawers at each side decorated in the same manner. Above is the original fitted white Carrara marble top framed within a beautiful pierced ormolu gallery.
