About the Item

A magnificent Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. mahogany, patinated bronze and ormolu buffet, possibly by French ébéniste Guingand. This very high quality architectural design buffet is raised on patinated paws. At each corner is verdigris patinated bronze caryatide with finely chased ormolu classical draping and crown. Two central interlocking doors with chased ormolu border have an interior adjustable shelf. At the frieze are two drawers with exquisite ormolu highly chased swan shaped drawer pulls. At the top is the thick Vert Patricia marble . All original hardware and gilt.
