Tall Mid-19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Walnut Buffet or Sideboard

About the Item

This Louis Philippe period buffet from the nineteenth century is known as a buffet d'appui in French which translates "buffet to lean on," due to its unusually tall height of 45 inches on which one can lean an elbow. Constructed of solid walnut, it features two upper drawers and two lower doors that open wide to allow access to the large cavity space inside the cabinet. A single interior shelf provides ample storage. With warm wood tones and simple lines, this piece will mix well with both contemporary and traditional spaces. Includes two keys, circa 1830-1848.
