19th Century French Hand-Carved Painted Buffet deux Corps Cabinet from Normandy

About the Item

A fine quality 19th Century hand-carved and hand-painted two body buffet built by skilled artisans from Pays de Caux, Normandy, France. Intricately carved. This Cauchois buffet from the 19th Century comes from the prominent Vanderbilt Estate in New York (documents unavailable). It has details very similar to those Monet installed side by side in his dining room at Giverny: cornice and carvings. Wonderful details with beautiful warm hues. This beautiful cabinet is a wonderful choice to showcase plates or accessories. With ample storage and two shelves in the upper cabinet area. Bottom has one large area with another shelf allowing additional storage.   Overall Dimensions: 93 1/2- to 94" High x 16 to 16 3/4" Deep x 49 to 50" Wide, Top portion of the cabinet with the crown molding measures: 50" Wide x 59 1/2" High x approximately 13 3/4" Deep (there is no glass there is wire mesh on the doors) customizing with glass might be an option, quote provided upon request. Top interior measures approximately: 38 1/4" Wide x 49" High x 9" Deep - there are 2 shelves in this section Bottom portion of the cabinet measures approximately: 46 1/4" Wide x 34 1/4" High x 16 3/4" Deep Bottom interior measures approximately: 37 1/4" Wide x 23 1/2" High x 13 3/4" Deep - there are 2 shelves in this section, as well (although not shown in the photographs).
