19th Century French Louis XV Marble Top Rosewood Cabinet with "Faux-Book" Door

About the Item

Decorate a powder room, an entry or hallway with this elegant antique cabinet. Crafted in France circa 1880, the tall cabinet stands on cabriole legs. The piece is topped with a delicate marble slab and framed with a decorative brass gallery. The front showcases a faux book or "Trompe l'Oeil" door on the facade, a pull out tray in the center dressed with leather. Below, a single cabinet door with a geometric marquetry pattern opens to reveal storage space. The cabinet is in good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina.
