About the Item

Painted cabinets were a traditional element of Swedish country homes, this one is particularly lovely as it still maintains the original hand-painted finish with faux marble drawer and crown, blue painted panels and a faux wood painted background which was the folk art style of the era. The monogram and date of 1852 indicate it was likely a wedding present. Unique to this is the narrow depth of only 18", and the caved/curved feet and skirt.Three interior shelves. This cupboard has been restored so it is strong, stable and ready for use. All knicks, scratches, age-related separation of wood are a reflection of generations of use and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely cabinet. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed. Photos are part of item description, please ask questions or request additional photos of specific areas if needed.
