About the Item

Swedish antique clock cabinet made during the early to mid 1800s, circa 1820 to 1840. The cabinet is veneered and waxed elm. The lower cabinet is a secretary desk and the upper consists of a long case clock. The cabinet has hardware and drawer pulls in bone. The condition is original and the cabinet has been left untouched for 200 years. No one has done any renovations or touch ups which is very unusual for a piece this age. That also means the patina is completely authentic and is the result of only time and use. The cabinet has some minor traces of use and distress. The clock has the original mechanism, weights, pendulum and keys. The door to the clock has a minor dry crack. It’s possible that the key plate to the writing top has been replaced, see picture. The clock was working at a simpler test at the time the photographs were taken but we leave no guarantee on the future function. The lower cabinet measures 110 cm wide, 45 cm deep and 107 cm high. The height to the writing top is 74 cm. The clock is around 118 cm high.
