WOW! It is comprised of two pieces, a top hutch and a lower buffet with hardwood frames, Oriental Holly and Acacia Burl accents, brass plated hardware, and LOTS of unique details! The top hutch is composed of double doors with glass fronts and brass plated hardware enclosing two hardwood shelves on the left and open shelves with faux bamboo arm details on the right. The top of the cabinet has lovely upward curved edges giving it a fantastic Asian flair. The lower buffet is composed of four stacked drawers on the left featuring vertical cylindrical handle pulls with brass plated tips. Each drawer’s hardware alternates from the top having two handles, then below having one, then two, then one… it’s certainly an eye-catching detail!! Also, the top drawer has three dividing slats allowing for precise organization!! They are fixed in their slots; however, you can remove one, two, or all three if you need a larger section. To the right beside the drawers, you have marvelous double doors enclosing a single wood shelf above an open lower storage space. The doors feature two brass plated curved corner square shaped hinges on each door and a larger brass plated center detail with two drop pulls and two keyholes. The legs of the buffet have a “dog bone” or “butterfly” shaped brass plated detail inlaid above the legs AND… the leg shape mimics the shape of those details! And a gorgeous skirting or plinth block apron runs between the front legs… it is MAGNIFICENT!!!! It bears a spectacular Chinoiserie style with a flair of Hollywood Regency and Campaign style and it would be the perfect piece to display all of that “fine China” your grandmother gave you!! But maybe you don’t have “fine China” to display? No problem!!, fill it with art, books, or any décor and simply call it a striking display cabinet! Or… call it a dry bar and fill the display portion with wonderful cocktail glasses and use the lower part for liquor bottles and other bar accessories. It has adequate storage, it is beautiful, versatile, useful, and it’s made by Thomasville, so you know it is of the finest quality! The original Thomasville furniture company was founded in 1904. At the time, it was called the Thomasville chair company since the company focused on producing chairs exclusively. Over the next few decades, the catalog expanded to include additional furniture pieces. During this time, the original company went through several owners; despite this, the company still experienced financial success even through economic hardship of the 1930s. Vintage pieces from the Thomasville Furniture company run the gamut from chairs to dining room furniture and many different types of furniture in between. The earliest pieces from the company when it was still known as the Thomasville Chair Company are considered the most rare and valuable. If you are looking for authentic Thomasville vintage pieces, you will need to find them on the secondhand market. Thomasville Furniture is one of the most recognized furniture companies in America. You can count on Thomasville furniture for incredible dining room and bedroom furniture. – vintage furniture guide. • 4 Hollywood Regency Chinese Chippendale Style Black Accent Chairs by Thomasville
    By Thomasville
    Located in Topeka, KS
Fabulous vintage Hollywood Regency Chinoiserie Chinese Chippendale style Thomasville black low profile accent occasional chairs, set of 4. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, all 4 chairs have natural, distressed edges from age & wear which we have enhanced giving them a gorgeous patinated look then added a fresh coat of lacquer. A couple of small holes in the vinyl have been repaired. They can be used as is, but most will want to reupholster. They are priced accordingly. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa 1971. You know, 1971 was a VERY good year… There were 3 partial solar eclipses AND there were TWO total lunar eclipses in the SAME year!!… The FIRST EVER Starbucks opened at the historic Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington… A movie ticket only cost $1.50… Oh ya… AND it’s the year I was BORN!! (Hmmmmm, those eclipses may explain a few things in my life!) LOL…Anyway, how privileged am I to share a birthday with these MARVELOUS occasional chairs by Thomasville!!! This is a set of four incredible Thomasville low profile occasional chairs in the style of James Mont covered in a deep black faux ebony finish bearing a naturally distressed all-over patina on their frames. They have wide, square seats wearing lovely black vinyl or faux leather fabric that is nice enough to use for a while but eventually you may want to reupholster. Just think of the limitless fabric possibilities!!! They feature beautifully carved Asian detailed backs and straight square legs with a wide and sturdy stance. The front legs have a slightly turned in foot, but no rounded hoof look so not quite the Ming style, but we might say a hint or bit of flair. They are definitely bursting with styles of Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie, and Chinese Chippendale magnificence and are sure to be a favorite new addition to your home! They are too low for use at a standard dining table; however, if you have a low profile Asian Chabudai (Japanese short-legged table,) or a low-profile game table, these would be a perfect fit!! Otherwise, you could certainly use them as extra seating in your living or family room or split them up and use two in the corner of your bedroom and two in the sitting room or study across from your fireplace. They are very versatile, composed of solid frames, and they bear an unmatchable and timeless Thomasville reputation!! They are EXACTLY what the designer ordered! The original Thomasville furniture company was founded in 1904. At the time, it was called the Thomasville chair company since the company focused on producing chairs exclusively. Over the next few decades, the catalog expanded to include additional furniture pieces.
