About the Item

This is a marvelous DIMINUTIVE Antique English superbly marquetry inlaid figured mahogany Edwardian Display Cabinet in the Hepplewhite style. This cabinet is profusely inlaid with rosewood along the cornice and along the diamond shape barring on the glazed door. The interior has a three fixed mahogany shelves. The top of the base has "checkered inlay and the base single door is extraordinarily inlaid with in a neoclssical motif with satinwood, walnut and rosewood. The bottom hand dovetailed drawer is also crossbanded along the drawer front with rosewood. The handsome brass handles are original and the small cabinet retains its original key which locks and opens the glazed door on top, the inlaid door on the base and the single drawer at the bottom. This is a magnificent "one off" piece that is small enough to be used as a wonderful vitrine or curio cabinet or even as a small bookcase. A delightful and beautifully exceuted piece in superb, age-appropriate condition. (Please see many images provided.)
