About the Item

Giuseppe Rivadossi Tall Glazed Cabinet, Walnut, Italy, 1970s An exceptional tall glazed cabinet by the Italian sculptor and designer Giuseppe Rivadossi, featuring a high level of craftsmanship in woodwork. This piece comprises two sections: the lower part with built-in shelves and drawers, and the upper part features two glazed doors and built-in shelves. This cabinet embodies a striking textured surface that is hand carved by gouge cut, which gives this piece the distinctive aesthetics that Rivadossi is known for. This graphical visualization is intensified by the walnut properties, which show vivid wood grains—an excellent article established by intensive hand-planed and trimmed finishes. Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976, where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.
