About the Item

A good quality late Victorian / Edwardian golden burr oak & oak drop sided cabinet. Circa 1890-1910. The cabinet is in excellent condition and has been sympathetically re-finished in a shellac. It has a smooth waxed finish, but still retains a few light authentic marks to highlight its genuine heritage. Made in solid oak, with contrasting burr oak veneers to the top cabinet panel and tier. The cabinet retains the original brass handle, which opens and closes the door well. The interior has a pine shelf, which is removable. Please note, the burr veneers show veneer patches in them. These are original and would have been set to cover defects and voids that burr veneer creates. Very sturdy with no damage or woodworm. There is a small nick to the side of the top edge, as shown in photograph number 5. A versatile cabinet that could be used in a number of settings. Delivery is INCLUDED in the price for all areas in MAINLAND England & Wales. Free delivery is restricted to ground and first floor, unless there is a lift the item can fit in.
