Antique British Colonial Rosewood Cabinet with Glass Panel Doors
Located in Atlanta, GA
A tall British Colonial rosewood storage cabinet with glass doors from the early 20th century. This antique display cabinet features a molded cornice atop a tall case with pair of five-panel front doors, set with glass. The skirt and sides of the cabinet remain clean and simple, and has a very subtle elongated carve out giving it an ever so slight raise off of the ground. This piece is made of rosewood, giving it a beautifully rich presence. This storage cabinet stands approximately 6.5 feet tall, and just over 3.75 feet wide, making it a great storage piece. Please note that there is some slight bowing at the lower right door, which doesn't allow the piece to close fully flush at bottom. 20th Italian Cabinet on Stand, Baroque Bargueno with Inlays & Mounts
Located in Miami, FL
Italian cabinet on table. Walnut and rosewood, hawksbill, bronze in color and gilded, 20th century. Sample desktop pool located on ball and claw with handles on the sides. The buffet or table that holds barguen~era is carved legs insured by lower chambrana (also machined with a given center) together and to the cover by curved metal fasteners capped scroll. Barguen~o paws have claw-shaped carved synthesized bird on ball, something very typical of the seventeenth century. The cover has this elegant geometric decoration, and so do the five drawers discover: the decoration of the side to diamonds made in marquetry by dark wood inlaid fillets of light, an element that is repeated in the interior of the chapel is reduced. As usual in the baroque barguen~o, the center of the sample is where the decoration is conducted, in general, based on areas tortoiseshell framed or highlighted with dark wood moldings and surrounded by sinuous curved lines made in marquetry, always maintaining symmetry. T The general outline of the furniture is very common in all the European Baroque and the compositional clarity not break until the arrival of the Rococo. All decorative elements, based on the classical tradition, are characteristic of this type of furniture: desks with outdoor displays of this scheme are known and performed throughout Europe, with a Flemish influence in its creation, the Italians being the most valued for their decoration. The practice of employing tortoiseshell plates...

Important Documented Qing Dynasty Chinese Deep Relief Rosewood Cabinet
Located in Los Angeles, CA
An exquisite custom antique 19th century Qing Dynasty heavily carved Chinese rosewood and elm wooden cabinet with double-doors carved set with gilt and deep relief carved wood panels depicting scenes from historical legends and brass handles enclosing a cabinet set with four shelves. The elaborately carved Elmwood panels originally decorated a mid-19th century wedding bed then incorporated into the custom Rosewood frame around the late 1800s-early 1900s. This incredible collectors piece of Chinese history was owned by a European diplomat in Shanghai China during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Documented in a large photobook of their home in Shanghai and their travels, this cabinet was an important piece in their collection and remained with their heirs until our acquisition. Some photos including the one showing this cabinet in their main room is displayed in the photo gallery of this listing. Many pieces owned by the diplomat collector were discarded or sold off over the decades whereas this important cabinet was passed on from generation to generation until we acquired it from a descendant of the diplomat collector. This cabinet would work great as a cupboard, breakfront cabinet, buffet, sideboard, bookcase or bookshelf, vitrine, étagère, china or display cabinet and would work great in an Asian, chinoiserie, Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room. Also consider mixing it up with a splash of juxtaposition in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish Modern, Contemporary or Postmodern home...
